Please see the below and the attached document for the latest updates in respect of the potential industrial action for Waste Services.
“Please note that from now until the end of the industrial action the www.somerset.gov.uk/strike webpage is the best source of up-to-date information and advice about disruption to services and how people can manage their waste when collections are missed.
The situation is likely to be changing day-to-day and during the day, so the website and other digital channels have to be important channels of communication during what would be a very difficult time for everyone.
The most important initial messages for your communities as plans go ahead for the strike are:
- Put your recycling, refuse and garden waste out on your usual collection days – but expect many missed collections.
- If your recycling or garden waste is missed, bring it in until your next scheduled collection day. Don’t report it as a missed collection.
- If your refuse or clinical collection is missed, leave it out and report a missed collection.
- Put your waste out before 7am or the night before, even if your collection usually takes place later in the day (crews may be working routes differently).”
