Complaints re Queenswood Lane

Response to concerns about debris left following tree and hedge cutting on Queenswood Lane.

Published: 26 March 2025

We recently received some complaints about Queenswood Lane, between Mayfield Drive and Pyrland Walk following tree and hedge cutting work carried out by Bridgwater Town Council. We have followed up on this and Bridgwater Town Council have stated that;
“Stacked brush had been left due to a mechanical failure with our shredder. This unfortunately delayed the clearance. However, following an inspection yesterday, the team have been instructed to return this week to carry out the necessary works. While on site, we observed bird activity within the fallen tree area, and therefore, in line with our commitment to biodiversity and wildlife protection, we will limit cutting back at this time. The pathway will be cleared sufficiently to ensure safe access, with a more extensive clearance scheduled post-nesting season in the autumn. The lane will also be tidied and debris blown clear.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience of residents while these matters were addressed.”
If any residents do have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will continue to follow up/address as necessary. We can be contacted via email clerk@durleighparishcouncil.gov.uk. Further contact details are available on our website.
